When Jesus spoke of giving water to the woman at the well, He was telling her about the gift of the Holy Spirit.
"SCRIPTURE calls the grace of the Spirit sometimes "Fire," sometimes "Water," showing that these names are not descriptive of its essence, but of its operation; for the Spirit, being Invisible and Simple, cannot be made up of different substances. Now the one John declares, speaking thus, "He shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with Fire" (Matthew 3:11): the other, Christ, "Out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water." (John 7:38) "But this," saith John, "spake He of the Spirit, which they should receive." So also conversing with the woman,

Ми раді кожній Вашій підтримці, бо беручи до уваги прибл. 500 родин-парафіян і коли кожна родина зробила б жертву у сумі $60.00 то ми покрили б наші видатки.

Manly Parish 100th Anniversary: St. George’s Ukrainian Catholic Parish at Manly, Alberta will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of its founding on Sunday June 14th. The Divine Liturgy will be celebrated by His Excellency Bishop David at 10:30 a.m. including a panachyda at the cairn and a banquet at Carvel Hall. Kopernick Parish Closure: Ascension of Our Lord Parish at Kopernick, Alberta will be marking the end of its Parish life on Saturday, May 23rd. The Divine Liturgy will be celebrated by his Excellency Bishop David Motiuk at 10:00 a.m. followed by a luncheon in the parish hall. (A donation of $15 per person would be appreciated for the luncheon. Children 12 and under are free.) A Panachyda will be celebrated in the cemetery after the meal to commemorate the pioneers who called Kopernick “home”.
Building and Maintenance Fund Project
St. Josaphat Parish has finally erected a long awaited larger sign in front of our church. This beautiful sign came at a cost of $34,000.00 installed. At this moment we have already received approx. $12,395.00. The Pastors and the Parish Council are making an appeal to all Parishioners to help pay for the sign by making a special donation towards this cause. Please give what you feel you can afford. As a guideline, having about 500 registered families would be an average of $60 per family if everyone donated. Thank you for your consideration to this project.
